IMAGINE A COMMUNITY
Where No Child Goes Hungry
We love our community. It is full of people who deeply care and who are hard at work making it a better place. As we became increasingly aware of the children in our community who are at risk of hunger over the weekends, a broader conversation began about how we could partner together to better meet this need. We thought if any community could do it, it would be ours.
A Community Effort
What we realized was that there are wonderful grassroots efforts going on all around the Shoreline School District of organizations and churches who are actively involved in providing weekend backpacks to chronically hungry children. But for every child fed, there are more waiting. How could we raise awareness in our community about the need? How could we resource these efforts to scale and expand their programs in order to feed more children?
This is where you come in. Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much. Join us in our mission to fight child hunger and ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn and succeed. We believe that when we come together as a community, there will always be enough. No child should go hungry or worry about the next meal. Join us to make this a reality in your neighborhood.
Each year, we make a difference in the lives of approximately 275 children by packing and delivering 10,500 Friday Foodpacks and snacks to Shoreline schools.

Weekend Backpack Programs provide food packages to chronically hungry students from low-income and homeless households who are at risk of hunger over the weekend when free school meals are unavailable. Every Friday students are discretely given a bag of food containing easy to prepare foods which is then tucked into their backpacks and brought home. When children receive the nourishment they need, they can begin to experience success, academically, developmentally and socially.
